A lot of expectations are being made from Royal Rajasthan on Wheels. This luxury train is offering a number of facilities that have not been offered before in Indian luxury train scenario. Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is coming close on the heels of Palace on Wheels, which is regarded as being among the best ten luxury trains of the world.
Royal Rajasthan on Wheels would be a joint venture of Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation. Mira Mehrishi who is the chairperson of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation says that she expects that the facilities on board Royal Rajasthan on Wheels would be better than Palace on Wheels. The main reason behind saying this is that this train contains added facilities like retro lounges and super deluxe saloon for example.
The schedule of Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is a bit different from that of Palace on Wheels in the way that Palace of Wheels goes to Sawai Madhopur instead of Bikaner like the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels.
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is supposed to start its journey from New Delhi and then go to various places in Rajasthan like Jaipur, Udaipur, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer and Bharatpur as well as Agra.
For the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation is having to pay haulage charges. This payment is in line with the new policies that Railways has come up with pertaining to tourist trains.
The revenues that would be earned by running the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation would be shared with the Railways. Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation would be getting 44% of the income and Railways would be receiving 56%.
